You CAN afford massage
Excellent client care doesn't have to cost a fortune...Massage has become a "big money" business. Many spas and private therapists add in fees for things such as "heat therapy" & "topical analgesic" and ask their clients to pay different prices for different modalities of therapy. This makes absolutely no sense to me....
You shouldn't be forced to pick one modality of massage...My focus is breaking pain cycles, encouraging the body to initiate it's healing response and addressing the causes of pain and not just the symptoms. To withhold any of my abilities because you didn't want to pay a few dollars extra for that technique is, in my opinion, the definition of unethical. I will use all of my knowledge, abilities and tools available to help you resolve your issues.
And deep tissue and/or medical massage don't have to hurt...I've had several new clients tell me they didn't want deep tissue work because it hurt too much. I've also had clients want it to hurt because they've been led to believe that it has to hurt for it to help. Some work does inherently hurt a bit but, honestly, it's generally known that if you're in pain your body will fight the therapy it's receiving. Your pain is likely from years of "wear & tear" and one session is not going to take care of all of it. Both of us knowing this allows us to take the proper time needed to open your muscles in a firm, yet as gentle as possible, way.
